Moved by the biased coverage of the historic 2008 primaries, Anita transformed from actor and fearful news junkie to determined campaign grunt, activist and spokesperson. In 2012, she became a regular commentator on the top rated Jerry Doyle Show (8 million listeners per week), America’s Radio News Network and The Michelle Jackson Show. As of June, 2014, Anita is also a contributor at Newsmax TV and can be seen on Midpoint with Ed Berliner.
On tour, Anita was keynote speaker at the 2014 LA Writers’ Conference and VFA’s Women & Film 2013 Conference/Awards Gala. Other speaking engagements include USC, MENSA, NOW-NY, NAPW, the Women’s Leadership Forum and Pasadena City College, where she has guest lectured on a number of occasions. Speaking on behalf of the empowerment of women, fair treatment in politics and an end to media bias, Anita has been interviewed by over 120 different TV and radio programs and prominent news magazines, including U.S. News & World Report and MSNBC.

Dirty Words on Clean Skin is Anita’s first book and has been #1 on Amazon’s Women in Politics books for 16 weeks! On the curriculum at Pasadena City College and part of the Clinton Presidential Library, Dirty Words on Clean Skin is a shocking expose that examines the bias still plaguing women who dare to lead. Anita’s unlikely and inspiring odyssey unearthed a society not as evolved as advertised. She found her voice and stood up in ways that just a few short years ago would have seemed unimaginable. Anita feels privileged to share that journey with others.
A regular contributor to EPIC TIMES news magazine and repeatedly Editors’ Choice on BlogHer, Anita writes for several other widely read political blogs. Her work has been featured on Real Clear Politics, MemeOrandum, MediaBistro/DC Fishbowl, xoJane, NoQuarter and Knoxville Journal. She is also on the writing staff of The New Agenda, a bi-partisan organization dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls.
As an actor and native New Yorker living in Los Angeles, Anita Finlay has worked primarily in television for twenty-five years, recurring and guest starring on such network series as “Perception,” “Castle,” “Brothers and Sisters,” “24,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Hannah Montana,” “Boston Legal,” “Gilmore Girls,” “Six Feet Under,” “Vanished,” “The Division,” “For Your Love,” “Girlfriends,” “The Guardian,” “Days of Our Lives,” and “Judging Amy.” She just booked national campaigns for AT&T and ATKINS.
Anita spent seven years on “The Young and the Restless” as Dr. Nora Thompson and starred in a number of feature films and made-for-television movies including “Alternate Endings,” “The Last Place on Earth,” “Two Voices,” “Prison of Secrets, ” “Chance of a Lifetime,” “Thrill” and “Visions of Murder.” She was recently featured in the Hallmark Christmas movie, “Naughty or Nice.”
Anita has done scores of commercial campaigns and worked in the theatre as a solo artist, writing and performing “The Devil Takes a Wife” to acclaim in Los Angeles theaters. She has also performed classical and contemporary works in regional theatres throughout the United States and had long running spokesperson contracts for a number of Fortune 500 companies.
With Elisa Goodman, Anita co-taught seminars on Marketing Yourself As An Actor: Presentation, Personality & Performance at UCLA, UC San Diego and at a number of venues and schools throughout Southern California.
She is a member of the National Association of Professional Women. Her favorite charities are Project Angel Food, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and the Rose Brooks Center.
Anita lives with her husband David and their two furry children, Caruso and Midge.
